Welcome to the Northwestern University INFORMS Student Chapter website.

The NU INFORMS Student Chapter serves the students of the Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences of Northwestern University by providing opportunities for academic, professional and personal development.

Among the events and activities organized and/or sponsored by the chapter are:

Brown-Bag Faculty Presentations

The Brown-Bag Faculty Presentations are informal presentations of their research by professors of the department, exclusively to first-year students. They are an opportunity for the students to learn about the ongoing research in the department and get to know the professors.

Student Panels

During the academic year, INFORMS chapter organizes various student panels to discuss about candidacy exams, advisor selection, career opportunities etc.

Lunch-and-Learns

Lunch-and-Learns are seminars (with lunch provided) designed for graduate students to present their research and share useful software packages and coding tricks with each other.

October IEMS-OM Seminar

NU INFORMS chapter are starting a new initiative to connect with Kellogg Operation Management students and faculty! Students and faculty may present their research to get feedback from other IEMS and Kellogg Operations professors and students.

Social Events

We are orginizing social events including board game night and game night at Norris Center for our graduate student to socialize and have fun.
