Humanitarian Logistics (Website)

The main goals of my humanitarian logistics research are (1) to assess how the rapidly growing availability of new data streams (e.g., crowd-sourced data) in a post-disaster setting can lead to better logistical decisions, and (2) to facilitate integration of the data into humanitarian logistics operations, such as last mile relief distribution and search-and-rescue efforts. The unique nature of problems faced in humanitarian logistics often give rise to novel transportation models. My work on adaptive orienteering problem with stochastic travel times and network repair crew scheduling and routing for emergency relief distribution problem are examples of such models.
